RECORDING FROM THE IMAGINATION | Victor Manuel Castillo Hernandez

Victor Manuel Castillo Hernandez, a graphic artist from Mexico, specializes in classic etching and linocut. His works capture the eye with density if lines and depth of the blacks. Vibrating figurative forms and dynamics of fragmented compositions, as well as richness of grays are the characteristics of his work. The artist pulls the viewer in the apparent chaos of untamed reality. The grotesque poetics provokes to seek their own history. Hybrid forms of imaginary beasts coexisting with people lead to very poetic interpretations. The artist masterfully uses visual metaphors on the edge of dream-like visions. In them the world order and logic are lost, and only a gesture of the artist remains.
