Graphic Arts from the World – India, Nepal, Bangladesh.
In our series of exhibitions Graphic Arts from the World at the International Centre of Graphic Arts we present works of artists from South Asia: India, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Characteristic of Asian artwork is color, its clarity, saturation, tension and mutual interaction. Color pours into the image building mood and atmosphere. Artists refer to the legends and myths of great Indian stories that merge lightly with contemporary life. Rite and history are still present in the works of artists who seamlessly combine different narratives and ways of imaging. They form a dense and vibrating collage like a superimposed plates, and leave discovering several layers of meaning and content to a recipient.
Artists from Asia are present at the International Print Triennial in Krakow since over a quarter of century. A total of 10 artists at the exhibition present over 30 works from the years 1989 - 2011.  Dominating techniqes are: etching, collography, drypoint but there are also present silkscreens, woodcuts and digital prints.
All presented prints come from the collection of International Print Triennial Society in Krakow.
