ART OF CHOICE 2007
ART OF DIFFICULT CHOICE
ART OF SIMPLE CHOICE
It is the work based on the dialogue of two different realities, which are nevertheless close to each other.
ART OF DIFFICULT CHOICE is playing with film reality - in pictures, dubbing, multilingual texts. In its nature it is based on a collection – a catalogue - of human passions and facts taken out of the film life.
It is intriguing and saturated, because such is the nature of cinema. Therefore anything is more real than actual reality. This private perspective is shown in ART OF SIMPLE CHOICE which is a 5-year collection of personal notes recorded with my mini DV camera.
In both parts we have common "subjects" like e.g. kisses, dances, singings, food, travels, children, animals and the like. There are also separated episodes assigned only to one reality e.g. sex, shooting (ART OF DIFFICULT CHOICE).
ART OF DIFFICULT CHOICE, on the surface, seems to be more saturated and impressive, but like a sister reflection in a mirror - ART OF SIMPLE CHOICE, is perhaps more intriguing, because is real for sure. In which reality we actually find ourselves more completely it is our choice. Perhaps mixing of both, as well as the possibility to move from one to the other ( in the image and sound ) is the biggest advantage of this work .(2006)
150 circles, 70 cm diameter each, collects quotes taken out of the films, the cinema icons - like Marilyn Monroe, but also still frames cut out from film narrations /50 circles/ complemented by those that represent my private narratives which only relate to the author / 50 circles /.
Exhibited Fragment shows selected quotations from these two realities. I hope that in the Fragment exhibition the viewer will find and will remember what perhaps is lying dormant in his memory.
